Tucked away off a courtyard, the former home of thè Marchese Nicola Lecaldano (whose distinguished-looking portrait hangs in the lobby) is now a friendly and elegant hotel. The location - on a pedestrian Street between Piazza Trieste e Trento and Piazza dei Martiri - is brilliant and it's pleasantly quiet. The conversion of a former brothel next door has added an additional eight rooms, each named after one of the women who worked there; there's even a list of ‘Services' offered. Rooms are well appointed and dotted with antiques; staff are helpful. Cakes and pastries are offered each afternoon at teatime.
